Release 0.11.1-beta — what's new

RF Studio 0.11.1-beta is available to testers. It is the first release announced here in the forum, so it sums up the whole 0.11 line: a big rework of water in the editor (0.11.0-beta, 22 October 2026) and the fix release 0.11.1-beta (23 October 2026) with a small orthophoto fix at beaches.

What's new

  • The water surface is always flat and below the terrain. New water cuts into the surrounding terrain. Before, higher terrain was mixed in at the shore – the surface "climbed the embankment" and the pond corners flickered in X-Plane.
  • Terrain below the surface: a new choice to keep a dam (default) or lower the level to the lowest terrain of the outline – with a warning about what it does to connected water. The new water type River always has a dam.
  • Filled water blends smoothly into the surrounding surface – no more bank around it and hole in the middle.
  • Beaches at changed water are adjusted in the same write: a beach segment crossed by the new shore is cut and the part on land stays. The new shore gets a beach like the neighbouring beach of the same water; otherwise the Studio asks for the type. The dialog preselects the narrow natural shore (8 m) and shows the width of each type.
  • Go to a place (Ctrl+G) in the 3D editor bar: coordinates in common notations (as in X-Plane, Google Maps, Mapy.cz or from a GPS), an ICAO code or a place name. A point outside the project window offers Move the window here.
  • Snapshots from X-Plane: the snapshot plugin (version 3) does not carry out old pending commands after X-Plane starts. Before, X-Plane could hang on "Preparing world".

Fixed

  • Water close to a thin "flipped" triangle of the Laminar mesh ended with the error "Triangulation failed".
  • Insert DEM across a seam of tiles one above the other (along a parallel) no longer fails, and a write across a seam is recorded correctly.
  • Take-over dialog: the scope (window / whole tile) can be changed while the preview is loading.

What to do

  • Install the new version over the old one – your data (settings, projects) stays.
  • The installer shows the license agreement version 1.2. Only the scope changed (0.11.x betas); the terms are the same.
  • If you use snapshots from X-Plane, the Studio shows a warning for the old plugin – reinstall the plugin and restart X-Plane.
